Assoc. Director, Science Lead Head and Neck

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director, who will lead our scientific efforts in the U.S. Oncology Marketing team for Head and Neck cancers. The position will be based in Upper Gwynedd, PA and will report to the Tumor Lead in US Oncology Marketing for head and neck cancers. This position will require outstanding leadership in many different areas, including strategic planning, scientific data analysis, counter-competition, cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
Provide input into marketing direction and strategic choices
Define brand priorities and establishing best practices for scientific education and advocacy
Manage external speaker bureaus and speaker training for head and neck cancers
Lead the development, evolution, and execution for the scientific competitive plans
Drive innovative ways to help disseminate brand messages as part of the scientific exchange
Provide marketing viewpoint as well as collaborating with Global Medical Affairs to create a network of external thought leaders and conduct Advisory Board meetings, Expert Input Forum meetings, and speaker training
Responsible for engagement of world-class scientific leaders in head and neck cancers
Drive the evaluation and interpretation of external data, publications and their impact on future treatment algorithms, as well as potential impact on guidelines and pathways.
Build an internal scientific network to discuss key scientific issues and share best practices
Collaborate with clinical research, medical affairs and other teams as required
Develop an annual budget for the segment and track expenses through the year
Work with Access teams to support their needs, including provision of models, analytical support, value dossier, etc.
Support the Tumor Lead to advocate for portfolio management and future clinical programs
Track and report Scientific Leader engagements
Develop and lead the medical education strategy for head and neck cancers
Lead planning for U.S. exhibits and conventions for head and neck cancers
Manage relationship with and deliverables from external scientific agency
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to prioritize work and facilitate internal resource trade-offs as needed (e.g. budget and medical/legal review time)
Required: Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
Preferred: Master's Degree (MBA/MS) or PhD or similar
Minimum of five years pharmaceutical experience in a marketing or scientific role
Strong skills in relationship building, including written and verbal communication
Strong skills in problem solving and analysis
Strong scientific acumen
Experience influencing without direct authority and working successfully with cross-functional teams
Experience developing and securing approval for promotional resources for healthcare providers
30% travel including some weekends
Experience working in the head and neck cancer field
Core marketing experience including strategy development & competitive planning
Experience leading marketing scientific strategy
