Job Description

The warehouse manager is primarily responsible for leading the day-to-day warehouse inventory and the receiving operations to support the site’s operational requirements and initiatives. Overseas receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, and related activities in accordance with established procedures. Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space. Ensures effectiveness of operating procedures and a space utilization. The position of Warehouse Manager reports directly to the North America Operations Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate a team of ten to twelve (10-12) warehouse employees (Long-term).

  • Communicates with commercial team, supply chain, and demand planner on a regular basis to ensure proper inventory.

  • Ability to provide accurate reporting or products received, stored and necessary inventory transactions.

  • Ensure compliance with approved operating policies, procedures, and schedules.

  • Reviewing employee performance and making recommendations regarding employment. These includes reviewing the performance ratings with the North American Operations Manager.

  • Resolving problems and complaints in relationship among personnel and associates with the assistance of HR and the Operation Manager.

  • Administer all Human Resources (HR) programs; i.e. reviews, discipline, etc.

  • Train associates to properly, efficiently, and safely perform their job duties.

  • Must know and understand our company's Employee Health and Safety requirements and make certain there is 100% compliance.

  • Effectively communicate efficient and consistent operations to ensure a smooth process.

  • Conduct meetings with warehouse personnel to discuss plan/issues, as required.

  • Plan daily/weekly workload to ensure we meet delivery targets.

  • Analyze operating process to access operating capabilities.

  • Liaise with the manager to coordinate replacement or repair of equipment and materials.

  • Properly maintain and control inventory.

  • Responsible for physical inventories and monthly cycle counts as well as periodic requested cycle counts.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong computer skills including word, Excel, and SAP Atlas systems.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and orally with necessary staff.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

  • Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Understands that their time is spent on the warehouse floor working, observing and resolving issues.

Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. BS/BA degree preferred.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Five years’ experience in warehouse practices, relating to criteria in job description.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, experience leading a team.

  • Experience with SAP ERP systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with other departments, vendors, suppliers, and shippers.
