The Associate Director, Global Professional Engagement Manager is a member of the Global Expert Management and Strategy team within, Global Expert Input & Medical Education (GEIMed) and Global Medical and Value Capabilities (GMVC). This function exists within the broader Global Medical & Scientific Affairs (GMSA), which is part of our Research & Development Division.

The Associate Director serves as a key professional interface with global and regional internal stakeholders, scientific leaders, healthcare professionals, and scientific/medical societies. The individual must be detail oriented to ensure the successful end-to-end planning and execution of input meetings (i.e. advisory boards, expert input programs, Scientific Input Engagements) and non-promotional global medical education programs. This role requires a person with strategic insight and the ability to develop a comprehensive assessment, which includes reviewing and approving an action memo documenting the legitimate business need for each program. In collaboration with business and strategy teams, the Assoc. Director develops an annual plan of programs that considers status of product life cycles, as well as the business goals of Global Medical & Scientific Affairs and our Research & Development Division.

Primary Responsibilities:

Expert Input:

Manages the effective organization and execution of end- to-end therapeutic focused expert input activities (advisory boards, Expert Input Forum (EIFs), and consulting service agreements (CSAs)) that align with the strategic plan, scientific platform, and market needs.

Reviews/approves all action memos for expert input activities for global & United States (US) programs, and is fully accountable for ensuring the memos have clearly articulated the business need.

Leads the planning and execution of expert input activities, which includes partnering with medical stakeholders to ensure appropriate development of agendas and discussion guides, selection of appropriate global scientific leaders, compliant execution of each program, and finalizing the executive summary to capture the most relevant scientific input as it relates to each program’s objectives.

Assures that all final program documentation is in line with policies and procedures and archived in the appropriate online documentation storage repository.

Medical Education:

Manages the effective organization and execution of end-to-end therapeutic focused global (ex-United States) non-promotional medical education programs that are in alignment with the strategic plan, scientific platform, and market needs.

In collaboration with therapeutic area teams, develops medical education program agendas that are in alignment with regulatory body governance and country-specific guidance, with the objective to improve patient outcomes through education of global delegates.

Informs the selection of key scientific leaders based on expertise and audience needs and requirements of home country of expert(s), oversees the development of planning documentation and program content, and supervises the execution of the program.

Ensures program plan is communicated in a timely manner to our Company's subsidiaries.

Other:

Ensures that all relevant expert input programs, medical education programs, and CSAs adhere to our Company's and country policies and standards.

Ensures that appropriate Conflict of Interest checks are complete, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and that contracts for United States and Global experts reflect appropriate terms and conditions that are consistent with country-specific guidance and Fair Market Value guidelines.

Deeply understands internal and external governing policies and regulations in implementing medical education across different geographies.

Works effectively across multiple markets globally to ensure that franchise strategic medical business objectives are understood and effectively accomplished through selection/execution of program type and through the effective relationships with key medical societies.

Maintains high level of scientific and market knowledge through ongoing participation at relevant internal and external forums.

Oversees and reconciles all budgetary and financial transactions for each activity.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or healthcare and 4-5 years' experience in Global Medical Program Design & Execution, including expert input programs and medical education programs.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 4-5 years' experience in Global Medical Program Design & Execution, including expert input programs and medical education programs.

  • Experience in US and ex-United States Regulatory, Compliance and Risk Management aspects and ability to lead contracting negotiation with key accounts.

  • Experience working with meeting planning and scientific agencies.

  • Previous experience in collaborating with external professional societies and regulatory bodies to facilitate strategic planning of programs.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate and lead cross-functionally and demonstrated ability to establish relationships with medical/scientific leaders/societies.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions for how to manage daily processes within compliance and according to local laws and regulations.

  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Expected salary range:

$159,200.00 - $250,700.00
