Analysts may also support Economic Modeling or Literature Review and Value Dossier within Life Sciences.Preferred locations include: Cambridge, MA. - Ann Arbor, MI. - Bethesda/Baltimore, MD.**Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities**Primary Role: Outcomes Research, Market Analytics+ Support Research Leaders in all aspects of projects including general project organization, day-to-day project management, and client communications+ Attend all internal team/external client meetings and present at client meetings when requested+ Develop study protocol, file specifications or model specifications for review by Research Leader and other members of project team+ Research and pull medical code sets required to perform administrative claims studies.+ Work closely with Programmer on most effective way to implement complex methodologies and build study analytic file+ Use IBM Treatment Pathways tool to conduct analyses for Market Analytics and Outcomes Research projects+ Perform data investigation on diagnostic, descriptive, and statistical output throughout the course of each research project. Suggest and implement changes in methodology based on output review+ Prepare deliverables for client presentation (final reports, slide decks, technical memoranda, posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts)+ Review and format inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Facility Targeting Reports for Market Analytics projectsSecondary role: Economic Modeling, Literature Review and Value Dossier+ Provide key support with reviewing published literature and conducting data/information abstraction research to identify, collect, and summarize data for building health economic models+ Assume primary role in developing economic models including cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, budget-impact analyses using Microsoft Excel (with Visual Basic macros) and other modeling software, such as TreeAge Pro+ Perform literature reviews using electronic databases such as Medline and EMBASE, search the gray literature, assist in the preparation of research protocols, screen for relevance, retrieve articles, develop data abstraction tools, and perform article abstraction+ Write literature synthesis in Word or PowerPoint, providing interpretation of the literature and observations of patterns and trends identified in a body of evidence.+ Draft global and AMCP value dossiers, support abstract, poster and manuscript developmentOther Responsibilities+ Fill in for Research Leader in their absence (for Sr. Analyst)+ Mentor junior Analyst staff to perform project tasks for client deliverables (for Sr. Analyst)+ Lead training and orientation sessions for new hires or others within IBM Watson Health+ Support the development of new proposals or sales opportunities as requested by Research Leaders+ Participate in project process efficiency improvement initiativesRequired Technical and Professional Expertise+ Minimum 3 years (5 years for Sr. level) healthcare and pharmaceutical industry experience with a focus on outcomes research using administrative claims, electronic medical records, other healthcare data, and/or economic modeling, narrative and systemic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and Global and AMCP value dossier.
