Cardiovascular and metabolic diseases claim millions of lives worldwide each year. The Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Area (CVM) of the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) aspires to discover transformative medicines that will eliminate these diseases. <br><br>We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our Cell Pharmacology group in CVM. As a successful candidate, you will conceive, develop and employ cell biology assays to discover new therapeutics against different cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. <br><br><b>Key Responsibilities: </b><br>• Develop cell-based assays to support CVM new target identification and drug discovery projects. Cells may express recombinant protein/RNA targets or be 2D or 3D cultures of particular cell types (e.g. iPS-derived or primary cardiomyocytes). Electrophysiology is a focus, but assay readouts will vary. <br>• Analyze and report data to project teams working under tight timelines. <br>• Collaborate effectively as a member of multi-disciplinary new target/drug discovery teams. <br>• Follow good laboratory and data documentation practices.<br>• Present results in lab and departmental meetings<br><br>[#video#https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggbnzRY9z8w{#400,300#}#/video#]
