Job Description

The Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) at our Company has a proud record of providing comprehensive analytical and methodological expertise to support the company's strategic goals. In collaboration with internal and external partners, Health Economic and Decision Sciences (HEDS) provides strategic and technical leadership to enable patient access, measure and quantify the value of our products, inform internal and external decisions, and shape methodology and external health policy and practice. 

An Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Intern at our Company BARDS HEDS will have the opportunity to work with collaborative cross-functional groups, including colleagues from Research and Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Commercial, Process Operations and Strategy divisions, to support the value and affordability demonstration of innovative oncology products.

The intern will be responsible for conducting both qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform recommendations for HEOR strategic initiatives. Types of work may include:

  • Review literature of specific areas of economic analysis (cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis) to identify opportunities for method improvement and expand the reach of economic analysis
  • Utilize clinical trial data, real-world evidence, published data, and scientific research tools (e.g., economic models, observational studies, simulation studies) to answer value and affordability questions
  • Partner with data science colleagues to utilize large scale real-world data to improve accuracy and relevance of predictive models


Required Education:

  • Candidates must have a BA or BS Degree
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in Quantitative Sciences such as (Health) Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Predictive Modeling, Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Engineering or closely related field
  • Candidate must have completed one year of graduate program coursework by Summer 2022 and be registered for the Fall 2022 Semester
  • Candidates must be able to begin intern assignment in May/June 2022 and commit for 10-12 weeks

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates should be enrolled in a PhD program
  • Candidates should have an interest in the pharmaceutical, biotech or other related regulated industries
  • Candidates should have experience and/or interest in health economics and outcomes research
