The Associate Manager, Market Research will primarily be responsible for managing the creation, collection, organization, development, and dissemination of market knowledge in support of strategic business objectives.

What you will do:

  • Drive acquisition and organization of market data from reliable sources

  • Tie product use to procedure codes through collaboration with marketing and surveys with customers

  • Use a combination of secondary research (ex. procedure volume) and primary research (ex. survey data) to understand product usage in the market

  • Complete regional market analysis based on market data

  • Utilize data to understand market size for existing and potential new products

  • Collaborate with marketing, finance, operations, and sales on the budgeting process

  • Assist in the analysis of internally generated and corporate initiatives to support sales strategies and programs

  • Assist in BD initiatives focused on financial targets, market share, and ROI

  • Manage post-launch tracking of performance relative to stated financial targets

  • Assist in the capture and communication of product value propositions for new and existing products

  • Establish a communication guide for standardization of VOC and VOS

  • Coordinate VOC and VOS through use of surveys, interviews, and focus groups via external vendors

  • Analyze and summarize key findings of VOC and VOS in presentation format

  • Explore and propose potential new markets based on market data and trends

  • Monitor and report out on competitive earnings reports

  • Take primary responsibility for completion and publishing of all routine Market Insights deliverables, e.g. marketing fact book, competitive price guide, and competitive intelligence.

  • Will manage incoming market intelligence “feeds” and competitive earnings calls and distribute accordingly.

  • Develop custom research projects based on active needs of the marketing team

  • Assist in the analysis of internal and external data sources and determine optimal sources and spend.

  • Responsible for managing all outside marketing research vendor relationships and cross divisional collaboration with other Stryker Market Research Analyst.

  • Analyze data including level of confidence, identify trends/correlations, market sizing and revenue opportunity, product line trends, and market penetration.

  • Assist in supplying market intelligence for the business unit strategic plan, pre-commercialization plans, commercialization plans, and annual marketing plans and annual strategy plans.

  • Utilize research design best practices to identify and execute the appropriate research methodology based on the defined business objectives, timeline, and resourcing.

  • Partner with marketing, finance, communications, and sales leaders to define the most meaningful and strategic research studies that facilitate informed decision making.

  • Conduct survey analysis, identify insights and opportunities, and devise recommendations that will inform business decisions.

What you need:

  • B.B.A. or B.S. in marketing or related discipline

  • Master’s in business or Market Research preferred

  • 4+ years in market analytics or related role

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and survey programming platforms (ex: Qualtrics)

  • Ability to analyze and resolve non-routine product issues using independent judgment.

  • Ability to routinely make decisions that may affect immediate marketing operations and have a divisional effect.

  • Ability to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.)
