BMS in Devens, MA is seeking an experienced QC Operations Associate Scientist. As our QC Operations Associate Scientist, you will provide technical/scientific support for the quality control laboratories in establishing and monitoring testing procedures, investigations, technical transfer of methods, training of staff, and analysis of data and trends

This position requires on-site presence

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and training to the QC lab on analytical chemistry methods.

  • Perform routine assays such as UV-VIS Spectrometry, HPLC methodologies (Titer, Sialic Acid), AKTA purification, Total organic carbon swab and rinse testing, Bioburden, Endotoxin, and environmental monitoring testing in accordance with SOPs, safety, and cGMP guidelines to support he release and stability of finished products, raw materials, in-process materials, and various components.

  • Recognize, report, and document deviations from test methodologies, specifications, and alert limits.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of cGMP, job related SOPs and complete all assigned training on time.

  • Coordinate sample receipt, logging, tracking, storage, distribution and archival.

  • Provide investigation and CAPA support.

  • Manage equipment maintenance scheduling and work order completion.

  • Management of analytical method transfers.

Role Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in biological sciences, or its equivalent in experience.

  • 4+ years’ experience in a GMP laboratory preferred.

  • Excellent manual dexterity including proficiency in aseptic techniques.

  • Familiarity with the use of analytical equipment, HPLC, UVs, TOC analyzers, AKTAs and the ability to troubleshoot issues.

  • Experience requiring one to work independently as well as part of a team, to complete assignments within defined time constraints.

  • Demonstrated ability to concurrently conduct multiple routine tasks, procedures, and operations effectively and consistently.
