Lead an exploratory drug discovery program for the identification of a novel anti-fibrotic therapy in collaboration with chemistry, lead optimization, and translational research teams.

Utilize human and animal model data with the aim of identifying and/or validating new pathways and potential drug targets for fibrosis.

Develop and validate novel in vitro biochemical, molecular and/or cell based assays utilizing the latest technologies to shorten the time required for drug target validation and to provide support to the Fibrosis Discovery pipeline.

Maintain knowledge of the current literature, propose novel concepts and targets.

Publish in scientific journals and present in scientific meetings.

PhD, MD-PhD, MD preferred. Pharmaceutical industry experience (3-5 years) preferred, or 2-4 years post-doctoral experience in academia; outstanding research track record and publication history in the relevant field required.
Expertise in fibrosis related pathways and mechanisms, such as cellular protein homeostasis and wound healing processes. Strong background in immunology a plus.

Skills in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, in vitro biochemical assays and/or receptor pharmacology.

Experienced in the handling and use of primary cell cultures and development of complex cell systems.

Knowledge of the drug discovery process a plus. Ability to identify potential new targets in the fibrosis area based on analysis of internal data, literature and or combination of both.

Evidence of working within a competitive environment, being a team player and a commitment to scientific excellence.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as indicated by a track record of publications and presentations at scientific conferences.
