This division is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients. <br><br>The Pre-Clinical Safety (PCS) group in NIBR provides world class preclinical safety profiling and assessment for optimal drug discovery, development and commercialization, with state-of-the-art regulatory compliance.<br><br>We are seeking a Safety Scientist to join the PCS organization in Translational Medicine. In this role, you would be supporting complex modality safety across a broad mix of therapeutic areas. You will support laboratory investigations of project and platform specific issues through design and oversight of experimental work.<br><br>What you’ll be doing:<br><br>Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:<br><br>• Work with senior scientific staff to conceive, execute, and interpret a large range of molecular biology and in vitro experiments in support of Novartis’s complex modality programs.<br><br>• Identify, assess utilize novel scientific approaches and technologies to address key project and platform scientific questions about safety of our therapies.<br><br>• Based on experimental results, assist in the design of follow-up studies, recognize challenges and actively provide input on solutions.<br>Write up detailed documentation of experiments with next steps/conclusions, maintain electronic lab notebooks, perform high quality research, and generation of reports for health authorities.<br><br>• Collaborate with research scientists across Novartis global platform and disease areas.<br><br>• Participate in and contribute to laboratory, departmental and project teams meetings, summarizing experiments and results, and contributing to scientific discussions.
