Job Description

Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

The Screening & Compound Profiling Group is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a background in CRISPR gene knockout technology in our Quantitative Biosciences Department at our Research Laboratories in Kenilworth, NJ. Ideally you will have experience using CRISPR for gene knockout, with a solid understanding of how to optimize editing conditions. Your primary responsibilities will be to support arrayed CRISPR screening in collaboration with other members of the group and scientists from across the company. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of cell-based assays, with an emphasis on complex cellular models and high-content imaging for functional genomics. Knowledge and understanding of miniaturized assays (384 well) and downstream detectors ranging from standard luminescence-/fluorescence-based readouts to imaging and cell-microarray based platforms is desired. Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities, and robust scientific methodology we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough.

  • Experienced screening with CRISPR gene editing in pooled or arrayed formats and experienced in validating and optimizing conditions for CRISPR gene editing.

  • Experienced with mammalian cell culture and running cell-based assays in multi-well format.

  • Experienced with transfection techniques for mammalian cells in high throughput (lipid transfection or electroporation).

  • Collaborate with Project teams across the company to develop innovative approaches to target-based and phenotypic screening for small molecule discovery efforts.

  • Solid understanding of data analysis workflows and statistics. Experienced with Microsoft Excel and Graphpad Prism.

Required Skills

  • CRISPR gene editing of mammalian cells.

  • Experienced working with cell lines in multi-well plates.

  • Experience with transfection of mammalian cells.

  • Molecular biology methods (PCR, cloning, etc).

  • Understand basics of data analysis.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree with 3+ years in CRISPR gene editing and in vitro assay experience; MS degree with 0+ years

Expected salary range:

$96,700.00 - $164,500.00
