Our Neuroscience department is developing new therapies for neurological disorders, and we would like you to join our team! In this role, you will establish and optimize translational biochemical and molecular pharmacodynamic readouts for preclinical studies to support our drug discovery programs. A major focus for you will be the establishment and utilization of preclinical in vivo models.<br><br>What you’ll be doing: <br>Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<br>• Developing and implementing inducible, surgical, and transgenic rodent models<br>• Designing, coordinating, and executing target engagement and efficacy studies to evaluate novel therapies<br>• In vivo model techniques including dosing, sample collection, and stereotaxic surgery<br>• Ex vivo investigation into pharmacodynamic readouts and novel biomarkers from a range of preclinical samples such as tissue, plasma, and CSF<br>• Quantitative data analysis utilizing multiple platforms and stringent statistical methods<br>• Sharing results with key stakeholders up to department-wide level<br>• Communication and collaboration across the organization<br>• Literature exploration, thinking creatively, and implementing innovative technologies<br><br>What you’ll bring to the role: <br><br>• B.S. degree or equivalent in biology, pharmacology, neuroscience, or a similar discipline<br>• At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry or biotechnology research experience <br>• Strong scientific background in in vivo pharmacology and neuroscience<br>• Exemplary organizational and record-keeping skills<br>• Excellent communication with ability to present data to project teams <br>• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced drug discovery environment with positivity and persistence regardless of challenges<br><br>Preferred Qualifications: <br>• M.S. degree in in biology, pharmacology, neuroscience, or a similar discipline<br><br>Why consider Novartis?<br><br>We believe the answers are found when curious, courageous and collaborative people like you are brought together in an inspiring environment.
