Job Description

Our Research Scientists are our Inventors. We identify and target steps in disease mechanisms or pathways that could be inhibited or enhanced. Our goal is to isolate a compound that is effective against a disease target. Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities and robust scientific methodology we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced scientist with experience in tissue-based assays and image analysis to support discovery and translational research in our pathology group. The successful candidate will implement molecular and histopathological techniques to multiplexed imaging and apply quantitative image analysis to identify novel biological targets for cancer therapy and elucidate mechanism of action. Experience with the Akoya Phenocycler and/or Vectra systems, as well as comfort and facility with image analysis software and/or opensource tools are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and validate staining protocols and analysis parameters for quantitation of multiplexed assays examining various molecular targets in intact human tissues.

  • Develop and apply analytic methods to phenotype cell populations and quantitate and spatially characterize molecular targets in situ within tissue sections.

  • Interact seamlessly with pathologists, IHC bench scientists, histotechnicians, and other stakeholders to drive projects with quantitative imaging endpoints.

  • Serve as a representative of the Anatomic Pathology group and a functional area expert on project teams.

  • Present data in team meetings and participate in generation of technical reports in support of regulatory documents.

This position will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high capacity and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with others both within and outside the department, and a strong drive to solve problems, overcome obstacles, and innovate. The successful candidate will have a high level of comfort with complex multitasking; be self-motivated and productive; and be able to work independently, with minimal oversight.
