Our company is currently seeking an exceptional scientist skilled in analytical chemistry and chromatography for a position in the Separation Sciences team, within the Discovery Chemistry Department located at our Boston, MA site. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative team to analyze and purify novel medicines prepared by our medicinal chemists.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop analytical and preparative chromatographic methods and drive the execution of compound purification of small molecules and peptides in our high throughput automated environment

  • Collaborate across disciplines to share and apply the best analytical, automation, and chromatographic techniques to enable continuous improvement of the capabilities within the organization

  • Utilize innovative problem-solving skills to analyze complex mixtures and develop separation methods to deliver pure material for key studies

  • Provide scientific mentoring and technical training of team members

To accomplish the above, the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills in addition to rigorous scientific thinking.

Minimum required education:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, or B.S. in chemistry/biochemistry with a minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience in a drug discovery setting, or M.S. in chemistry/biochemistry with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience in a drug discovery setting.

Required experience and skills:

  • Experience in analytical characterization and chemical compound purification with expertise in one or more of HPLC, LCMS, SFC, chiral chromatography.

  • Highly self-motivated, customer-oriented focus and an attention to detail are critical to success in this position to support cross-functional collaborations across diverse research programs.
