Position Summary

Located at the Alewife site in Cambridge, MA, Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Associate Scientist with experience in assay development to validate PD/Efficacy end-points from in vivo models to support programs at various stages of Immunology portfolio. The desired candidate will have the technical expertise in various biochemical and immunological assays. This individual will demonstrate sophisticated scientific thinking and have the capacity/eagerness to rise to challenges. A strong work ethic, good judgement, and the ability to work equally well in a team or independently are key qualities in the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, troubleshoot and execute assays, such as Luminex/MSD and qPCR.
  • Collaborate alongside a cross-functional team that includes in vivo pharmacologists and immunologists, to drive assessment of PD/Efficacy end-points
  • Excellent communication, record keeping, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills are required.
  • Travel will be less than 5% of the time.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the field of biology, immunology or related scientific discipline with at least 4 years work experience or Master’s degree in the field or biology, immunology or related scientific discipline with at least 2 years work experience in a related field in an academic and/or industry setting.
  • Extensive experience in designing and executing Luminex/MSD and QPCR assays is a must
  • Experience with flow-cytometry is highly desirable
  • Experience tissue collection and processing from rodents for ex vivo analysis is highly desirable
  • Experience handling and dosing rodents is highly desirable
  • Research experience in inflammatory & autoimmune diseases is desirable.
  • Outstanding experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills is a must.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills is a must.
