Summary, Focus and Purpose
The In Vivo Pharmacology – Oncology group is seeking a motivated and technically skilled scientist with immunohistochemistry expertise in oncology, immune-oncology, and/or immunology to join our Boston-based Exploratory Discovery team. Candidates will be able to work independently but will also be expected to proactively collaborate with colleagues across disciplines. Primary responsibilities include design and execution of immunohistochemistry (IHC) and histology experiments of human and mouse tumors as well as normal tissues to support the clinical development of novel targets and drugs to treat patients with cancer.
You will be an active participant in the positive and critical scientific dialogue that is necessary to progress our programs.

Executing disease relevant immunohistochemistry assays
Optimizing and validating antibodies for use in histology assays
Contributing to the characterization and validation of compound and/or antibody activity
Communicating data clearly and concisely to the appropriate teams and stakeholders
Education
Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years' experience or HS Diploma with 10+ years experience
Experience | Skills | Knowledge
Required
One year industry or academia experience
Principled verbal and written communications
Strong knowledge in immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization including method development, optimization, and troubleshooting
Sectioning formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) or frozen tissues
Conducting histology-based experiments such as IHC, immunofluorescence (IF), or RNA in situ hybridization
Processing and embedding formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues
Frozen tissue embedding, microtome and cryostat sectioning
Preferred
Conducting image analysis using open source and/or commercially available software
Experience in image acquisition and basic microscopy skills
Interest and/or understanding of oncology, immune-oncology, and/or immunology
Strong data analysis skills including a practical knowledge of statistics
Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated immunostainers (e.g. Leica Bond)
Experience with confocal microscopy
Experience with quantitative image analysis (e.g. ImageJ, Indica labs HALO)
