BMS is looking for a motivated Principal Scientist with a desire to contribute to the fast paced discovery matrix environment by conducting biophysical characterization and preformulation studies for potential new biologic candidates. The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of biophysical properties of new biologic candidates as they relate to compound liability and developability profiles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to carry out and interpret data from biophysical characterization and preformulation studies on potential new biologics candidates, with the purpose to define their developability and liability profiles.

  • Provide experimental and computational input to protein discovery scientists during design and screening of new biologics entities and enable drug design from lead optimization to the point of candidate identification, characterization and selection.

  • Strategically design and guide the development of formulations suitable for use in drug discovery pharmacology studies, PK studies and initial exploratory toxicology studies.

  • Work in conjunction with discovery teams to enable drug discovery through application of innovative drug delivery technologies or devices, internally and externally, enabling more effective delivery of biologics.

  • Participate in and drive strategic direction of the Discovery Pharmaceutics & Analytical Sciences group to further its ability to act as a problem solving entitiy for biologics discovery teams and provide seamless transfer of candidates to development.
