He/she will manage activities designed to establish and maintain effective labor relations through uniform application of the Companys policies, practices and applicable collective bargaining agreements.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION*** Facilitates resolution of labor grievances, disputes, employee issues and concerns; conducts investigations & coordinates arbitrations & litigations with HR Operations and Legal.* Works collaboratively to ensure consistent application and interpretation of Labor Relations, policies, contracts, and strategies* Provides and consistently documents corporate-wide decisions in keeping with best practices and to minimize risk and litigation in labor and employee relations situations.* Participates in the investigation of complaints by root cause analysis of workplace issues in aggregate, provides reports and recommendations to the business.* Classifies and catalogs common issues and develops decision trees, standard processes and procedures for addressing going forward* Conducts HR training and/or assists in the implementation of human resources initiatives or projects as they relate to employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement.* Partners with HR Operations in providing necessary supporting documentation and feedback for applicable EEOC complaints, unemployment claims, Worker's Compensation, complex leave of absence cases, and/or exit interviews.* Assists with other HR special projects or assignments as needed.**Qualifications*** The ideal candidate is an experienced Labor Relations professional with extensive labor relations experience with a large non-exempt workforce. Experience working for a federal contractor is a must as well as working knowledge of SCA (Service Contract Act).* A minimum of 7 years high-volume Employee & Labor Relations experience* Experience in bargaining contract negotiations, interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements* A Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education/experience, Masters Degree preferred* Ability to investigate, analyze and develop plans for effective resolution of workplace issues* Extensive / hands-on knowledge of EEO, ADA, FMLA and other labor and employment regulations* Demonstrated ability to develop and establish processes, procedures, and metrics* Strong consultation skills* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with union representatives, managers and colleagues at all levels within the organization;* Detail-oriented (especially with regard to effectively managing and documenting labor relations issues and investigations);* Proficient with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point software applications.The duties and responsibilities listed in this job description generally cover the nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
