Leidos is seeking a Software Developer/Trainer Intern in Orlando, FL.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Leidos has an opening for a Software Developer Intern supporting an exciting Air Force & Navy Mission Planning development program in Orlando, FL. This intern will learn the latest Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment concepts and tech stacks, while also contributing to development of training curriculum designed to help inexperienced software developers learn similar concepts at their own pace.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•The successful candidate will be energetic, curious, organized and comfortable working as a part of a team in a peer-to-peer environment.
•Under supervision, general responsibilities will include contributing to the creation (and continuous maintenance) of Software Developer self-paced training curricula for a cloud and micro-service based Next-generation Mission Planning System.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field with a 3.0 GPA
•Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint)
•Some knowledge of Object-Oriented programming concepts
•Some experience with Visual Studio IDE to include IntelliJ
•Some experience with C# and Java programming languages
•Exposure to software testing concepts
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multiple contractors, government agencies and other mission planning stakeholders to include formal training classes

•Potential for periodic telecommuting

•Ability of working year round in our Orlando office location
•Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
•U.S. Citizenship is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Familiarity of software version control tools such as GIT
•Some experience with Azure DevOps/Team Foundation Server (TFS)
•Some hands-on experience with a scripting programming language (e.g., PowerShell)
•Familiarity with Virtual Machine environments, VMWare, Terraform, Docker containers (Window and Linux), and the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment philosophy
