Power BI Developer/ Analyst

Job Summary

Prepares and maintains Power BI and Excel applications for business intelligence processes. Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities. Works with users to understand which metrics have the most impact on their business areas and modifies Power BI applications to provide rapid and easy insight into current performance compared to goals

Essential Responsibilities:

• Utilize Power BI and collaborate with end-users to develop fully automated Power BI dashboards/reports.
• Select the most appropriate analytical technique. Review and analyze information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures, and compare against service standards and best practices to identify improvements that would increase efficiency or productivity in work effort.
• Coordinate with operational managers to identify key performance metrics and data sources to develop reports and dashboards designed to measure performance to standards.
• Prepare detailed documented requirements for selected activities (i.e., data management, configuration management, program management, etc.).
• Assist in continuous process improvement with systems & data that impact the contract.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, process improvement or equivalent experience.
• Two to four years’ experience is desirable, however we will consider recent graduates without experience if they have the appropriate coursework, GPA over 3.5 and strong references from business/data analytics faculty.
• Intermediate or higher experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet programs and integrated software applications are required; Microsoft Office applications preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Power BI familiarity or equivalent data analytics visualization coursework/ projects.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, row-level security, and time intelligence functions is desired.
• Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional database models, as well as star schema is desired.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to develop and present reports to internal/external audiences.
• Ability to analyze and interpret business requirements and metrics to Power BI solutions and Windows dashboards.
• Position requires a Secret Security Clearance prior to starting work. Must be a US citizen.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• Position requires occasional travel within the US and to Andros Island, Bahamas.
