What you’ll be doing...

In this role you will be part of a team responsible for delivering the next generation enterprise-class mobile app for Verizon customers serving mobile, home, 5G and other consumer products, built on the latest mobile platforms, leveraging best in class mobile, web & cloud technologies. You will be part of the global software engineering team responsible for design, development and delivery of Android mobile apps.

  • Bringing in best practices with software development teams to gather requirements and ensure best practices are adhered.
  • Supporting performance testing and ensure the team is able to come up with quick analysis on the LT result.
  • Being there for all platforms in the digital my Verizon app space and ensure all channels have optimal experience and think from OMNI perspective.
  • Supporting requests from IT/Business leadership teams to provide estimates and strategies for North Star application migration and integration.
  • Building scalable solution at the same time keeping the stability of the platform in mind.
  • Partnering with business teams and deliver an improved customer experience
  • Conforming to existing industry and Verizon security coding standards adhering to fortify scan and other security tool review requirements.
  • Conducting code reviews for junior members of the team and do peer code reviews to make sure code is following standards set forward by the architects.
  • Running test scripts against code to ensure quality delivery.
  • Guiding teams to resolve code issues.

Where you’ll be working…

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of mobile app development experience.
  • Experience working on an enterprise grade mobile team.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Design, develop, build and maintain Android Mobile Apps.
  • Extensive experience with Java, Kotlin, Android SDK.
  • Extensive experience developing UI/UX using Android UI frameworks, Material Design.
  • Experience with Push Notifications APIs, GCM.
  • Experience with Firebase Crashlytics integration and monitoring.
  • Experience developing new complex mobile applications from top to bottom (user interface design, application design, implementation, unit and functional testing, deployment to customers). Implement new features in existing mobile applications.
  • Liaise with product stakeholders and other teams in the organization to complete the projects on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, manage criteria applied during code reviews.
  • Investigate technical issues during the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience in evaluating mobile technologies and third party tools.
  • Experience using git, Jira, Jenkins, confluence and other software development tools.
  • Experience with Agile 2.0.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with business and product teams.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a California work location, the compensation range for this position is between $122,000 and $227,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
