OptumCare Northwest is now offering qualified candidates an opportunity to join our IT Analytics team as a Senior Healthcare Programmer Analyst SQL Server Remote in US. The Senior Healthcare Programmer Analyst is responsible for aggregating various data sources and developing actionable reports and dashboards. This position will work cross-functionally to identify data collection gaps and opportunities. We are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical, and critical thinking skills. The person must be a team player and excel in a Billion dollar starts-up like work environment with focus on development and support of new data products. Also, the role is to provide accurate and actionable analytics to support internal and external customers who are eventually helping providers and members.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Reconcile and transform large amounts of data across multiple system platforms and sources
- Develop analytics including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations, and automate them
- Work with customers in requirement gathering, testing, training, and support
- Elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement and opportunities; report findings to management
- Conduct gap analysis and data validation, identifying possible issues in data submission
- Assist in implementing Quality measure reporting and analytic solutions
- Document and support best practices in data product development and adhere to HIPAA, Privacy and Security guidelines

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in Information Technology and Health Insurance
- 7+ years of experience in data systems programming or related field required with demonstrated work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of healthcare payor experience
- Experience and solid knowledge of MS Applications including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
- Intermediate to expert level knowledge of MS SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI
- Ability to learn and use new tools and technology to create and support new data products - ETLs, reports, dashboards, and visualizations
- Familiarity with Data Modeling and Warehousing, and data visualization
- Familiarity with Medical Coding, Medicare Advantage program, risk adjustment methodology, and HEDIS measures
- Good understanding of Membership, Claim, Rx, Provider, and EMR data
- Excellent analytical and collaboration skills to work with internal and external teams
- Positive, self-motivated individual who can work on multiple tasks and complete them independently
- Ability to take initiative, handle complex situations, ask questions, stay calm, and find solutions
- Superior communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization
- Ability to identify and resolve data system problems in a timely manner and to identify areas for process improvement

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
