Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals with software development related education and/or experience to support software development, integration, and testing in support of Dahlgren, VA. This position will be partially remote and partially on-site as tasking requires. You will be part of our growing systems & software engineering team and contribute to our diverse skillsets across multiple contracts in support of our Centers of Excellence.


Senior RHEL Software developer responsibilities include:
• Upgrading a Gun System’s operating system from Legacy RHEL 6.10 (32 bit) to RHEL 8 or 9 (64 bit). Periodic testing will take place using actual hardware in the on-site Naval lab.
• Solving complex Digital Engineering challenges.
• Applying your skills to the latest DoD weapons and sensor systems
• Modernizing the Navy and contributing to mission success.

Minimum Qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other technical field or equivalent experience.
• of experience or related education/training and experience with C++ and RHEL 6.10 or RHEL 8/9.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
