Job Description:

NGEN is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) portion of NGEN, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.

Job Summary:

Leidos is seeking a Software Developer to support Electronic Classroom Services as one of the key members of the User Support Services Capabilities team. The candidate will fill a near term goal of transitioning the software development of the classroom management tool CAMS to the SMIT contract. No immediate changes or enhancements are planned during transition. The candidate will also provide technical inputs to the software packaging and deployment teams on criteria for any upgrades and or patches to the Net Support School product. A time period of self-paced training will be allocated so that the candidate can be familiarized with the CAMS product code base. The Classroom service will not require constant maintenance throughout the Classroom lifecycle and during times of inactivity the candidate will be working on other End User based software development tools and program languages to include;

  • Enterprise Management Tool (EMT)
  • Remote Access Service (RAS) Tools
  • Deployable Seat Application (DSA)
  • Migration Automation Tool (MAT)
  • C# / / VB6 / Powershell Script / VB Script

The candidate will need to have the ability to train other developers to build a software development team around the current and future SMIT End User Capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the project teams in determining client requirements and translating requirements into operational plans

  • Facilitate status review meetings among project team members and clients

  • Ensure adherence to legally binding requirements and client’s long-term goals

  • Coach and counsel members of cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals, meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizen

  • DoD Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of prior related work experience. 8 years relative experience acceptable in place of a degree

  • Must demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies

  • Must demonstrated expertise in IT Enterprise Operations

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
