What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for the field survey and Engineering design function for Fiber to the PremiseNetwork. Responsibilities include surveying customer locations, meeting with vendors and other carriers related to facility design. This includes the identification of Outside Plant Fiber Network elements in proximity to the customer and determining methods of delivery to the customer’s building. This role will require coordination with a variety of teams and will have direct contact with business and residential customers. Work will be performed in an outdoor environment and also indoors within customer premises. You will also be involved in functions for our Fios Open for Sale program & NT Switch shutdowns.

  • Planning and Designing additions, upgrades, repairs and enhancements.
  • Selecting and pricing solutions based on the most effective, efficient, and timely design.
  • Coordination with internal departments and customer focused communication with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners to implement solutions appropriately.
  • Creating winning outcomes for both Verizon and its customers.

What we’re looking for...

You have strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make network design decisions based on recommended Engineering Guidelines and design criteria. You possess the ability to interact with customers in a clear and concise manner in order to communicate and explain our service order process and the method of delivery. As a strong communicator, you quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.
You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with CAD, and MS Excel/MS Access MS Word

Even better if you have:

  • Familiarity with NYC dense urban environment.
  • Experience with windows-based programs and corporate database systems.
  • Ability to make network design decisions based on recommended Engineering Guidelines and design criteria.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a clear and concise manner in order to communicate and explain our service order process and the method of delivery
  • Fiber to the Cell knowledge in design and Network layout
  • Knowledge of Ivapp, CoFEE, CCP, Vbuild, and NYC MMS systems
