Electrical Design Engineer Bedfordshire

What you’ll be doing:

Reporting to the UK engineering manager, responsible for all aspects of Electrical design for assigned tasks and project activities. You will be working within a design team and in professional work environment with a hands-on approach to the role.

Working with other internal stakeholders to meet and exceed division goals to help ensure future success of the organisation. You will apply electrical engineering design methodologies support product and safety requirements of your assigned tasks meet the required timelines.

Key responsibilities and essential duties will include:

  • Prepare electrical engineering designs, documentation, and recommendations.

  • Meet engineering compliance and safety guidelines by working to both domestic and international technical standards and regulations in design activities and documentation.

  • Ensure electrical designs meet internal and external Customer specifications and fulfils the specification requirements of their assigned tasks.

  • Troubleshoot electrical design issues associated with production and operational dilemmas.

  • Support the organisations and department’s lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.

  • Support data Migration into MRP systems.

  • On-going engineering change process requirements.

  • Re-design existing products to reduce cost while maintaining or improving functionality.

  • Compliance to functional safety and standards.

  • Experienced in managing and handling pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Liaising with Project management, Mechanical Engineering, manufacturing, software and Installation Teams.

  • Continually building relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve the successful completion of projects.

About you:

A background in industrial automation environment, with good knowledge of detailed indented bills of materials for manufacture would be advantageous, coupled with:

  • A good communicator.

  • Organised and able to prioritise and plan to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of configuration management.

  • Previous experience in all or some of the following areas:

    • Proficient in ePlan electrical design software.

    • Experience of working under stringent Engineering Change process.

    • Experience in design of conveyors/ baggage handling.

    • Costpoint MRP system experience is an advantage.

This is a permanent position, based from our UK based center of excellence hub in Kempston, Bedfordshire UK.
