What you’ll be doing...

  • Provide subject matter expertise on multiple Outside Plant Engineering functions, processes, and systems in support of the Engineering organization
  • Analyze and coordinate data, regional Engineering input, and report results, and provide recommendations on strategic operating programs, including, but not limited to, FTTP/NT, FTTCS, and HiCap and CORE services
  • Engage with Engineering Support and IT teams to identify and implement system fixes and enhancements while supporting North Star system architecture development and deployment
  • Run point on special projects as determined by Executive Director or Senior Manager to be beneficial to the efficiency and productivity of the organization, including, but not limited to, business intelligence, data analytics, organizational structure, and partner stakeholder engagement
  • Overseeing SOW contract management and vendor engagement to ensure effective pricing and a quality product, in the areas of:Spend Management,Task/Unit Management,Sourcing Interface,Staff, Systems, and IT Interface.
  • Ensuringcost savings per unit or grouping.
  • Monitoring usage of hourly tasks.
  • Hosting monthly calls with Sourcing and Director team SMEs.
  • DistributingM&Ps to vendor community.
  • Training for Access Engineering users.
  • PAR processing improvement.
  • Providingsingle support interface to support teams.
  • Vendor grading and feedback process development.
  • Providingsingle interface for Sourcing.
  • Adding or retiringtasks as needed.
  • Standardizingtask usage for efficiencies.
  • Ensuringusage by task.
  • Quality rating development (time/revision)
  • Analyzing/publishing monthly spend by Director.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years ofwork experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to Travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Relevant work experience in Outside Plant Engineering.
  • Analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
  • Technical knowledge of Verizon OSP network capabilities, products, and services, as well as associated processes.
  • Experience and proficiency with the following Verizon systems:vBuild,CCP,BDMS,FIMS/ICGS/IDDS,PRS,TIRKS,CoFEE/Canvas,IVAPP,andLFACS.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite of products, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in Google Workspace Suite of products, especially Drive, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Motivated self-starter abilitiesto thrive in autonomous environment.
  • Ability to meetdeadlines and produce quality results managing multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to maintain strong relations with cross-functional teams, regional field teams, and external business partners.
