Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Process Engineer to work in Pueblo, CO at the Pueblo Agent Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) located on the Pueblo Army Depot. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and expertise to support the United States Chemical Weapons destruction program.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; performing document reviews, technical research, equipment walk downs, and providing technical input associated with the facility operating contractor activities including design, operations, maintenance, decontamination and decommissioning, and facility closure activities. Candidate establishes and maintains oversight procedures and reviews to ensure timely reviews and compliance with program, Army, and environmental requirements. Coordinate review efforts of field office team members and consolidates input for presentation to government client.

Perform project related engineering activities such as provide technical input to the PCAPP FO regarding systemization efforts, startup operations, and closure. Technical input shall include, but is not limited to, assessment of operational performance, quality assurance, management controls, and emergency response readiness.

This position may occasionally be required to perform duties as a shift representative. As a shift representative, provide technical input regarding plant operations including, but not limited to, the following areas: munition processing operations, maintenance activities, toxic entries, surety, security, emergency response, ammunition surveillance, quality assurance, and environmental compliance. When required to fulfill coverage of process operations, candidate may occasionally be required to work a 12 hour rotating shift.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline with five years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience, training, and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform engineering calculations, and analyze engineering data related to process controls and operations.

  • Must be able to wear an M40 respirator. (for emergency purposes only)

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NACi Clearance upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in plant shift operations, Conduct of Operations and Government oversight.

  • Able to work in a team-based environment.

  • Self-starter with ability and desire to initiate and execute new projects.

  • General proficiency and effective communications skills utilizing Microsoft Office suite, including Excel is desirable.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
