Job Description:

As a Lead Engineer of our technical field services engineers you will be expected, under limited supervision and usually acting independently, to preform a wide variety of technical service activities including installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing the wide range of Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) equipment based at customer sites in the Netherlands.

Technical problem solving to include technical fault diagnosis on complex Leidos products, particularly when urgent machine fix required after multiple engineer attendance has failed to rectify. Working closely with our approved service provider in the Netherlands, this person will gain knowledge and provide guidance to peers & junior technicians within the Netherlands service team. Contribute to develop and maintain both good customer and service provider relationships within the region. Respond to customers in a timely manner, particularly during breakdowns & escalations. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Leidos Service team of our approved service provider.

  • Operate from our Leidos office at Schiphol Airport including on call Out of Hours cover from home when required.

  • Assist in planning and delivery of preventative maintenance (PM) services on Leidos SES equipment within the Netherlands.

  • Provides support to customers by installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing of Leidos SES equipment of a highly complex nature.

  • Prepares and conducts formal and informal training courses for customer personnel and service provider in the operation & maintenance of systems and equipment.

  • Prepares and conducts formal and informal engineer continuation training when engineers require development or technical upskill.

  • Provides on and off site technical support for team engineers.

  • Take ownership for Technical bulletins & help to implement when required.

  • Work with service provider and Customers to provide improvements to Leidos equipment availability.

  • Attends regular service review meetings with the customer, representing Leidos interests and identifies areas for improvement in working relationship.

  • Work with Leidos Project manager or Project engineers to assist with technical solutions during new equipment installations, system upgrades or trials.

  • Work with service team and Quality to submit Quality alerts using Leidos quality portal.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to colleagues at Leidos and our service provider.

  • A team player who displays initiative and can communicate well to teams, departments & customers.

  • Works with customers via phone or in person to identify operational/technical problems. Responds to customer complaints and questions until resolved.

  • Use OVConnect or any other telemetric to help build reports, diagnose problems, or predicatively respond to situations

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses system/equipment interface problems by phone support, direct deployment or remote diagnostic SW.

  • Assists customer in understanding the full capabilities of the equipment and/or systems for their immediate operational requirements. Advises customer of all equipment changes and authorized modifications.

  • Attends OEM training on all job related products

  • Completes CRM and submits all required admin to agreed deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of technical school in electrical/electronic engineering technology. Typically possesses two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in mechanical/electrical or electronic field service environment. Specific highly skilled knowledge of X-ray, Body Scanner with software installation experience is preferred but not essential for this role as OEM product related training will be delivered.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent technical skillset, with good communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Knowledge of complex digital and analogy circuitry is required, Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment and experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment preferred but not essential.

Team player with ability to priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously and independently. Must be available to work weekends, travel throughout the Netherlands at short notice, work non-standard hours, travel on weekends, and assist other field regions outside the Netherlands as required.

Pay Range:

Pay Range £42,800.00 - £54,900.00 - £67,000.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
