What you’ll be doing...

In this role you will be part of a team responsible for delivering the next generation enterprise-class Digital experience for Verizon customers serving mobile, home, 5G and other consumer products, built on the latest digital platforms, leveraging best in class mobile, web & cloud technologies. You will be part of the global software engineering team responsible for implementing new features and maintain existing code, lead development teams in delivery of best-in-class Digital experience.

  • Bringing in best practices with software development teams to gather requirements and ensure best practices are adhered.
  • Leading efforts for platforms in the digital my Verizon app space and ensure all channels have optimal experience and think from OMNI perspective.
  • Partnering with IT/Business leadership teams, Operations & Customer escalation teams to provide estimates and strategies for improving Quality and overall Employee & Customer Experience on our Digital assets.
  • Building scalable solution at the same time keeping the stability of the platform in mind.
  • Conforming to existing industry and Verizon security coding standards adhering to fortify scan and other security tool review requirements.
  • Conducting code reviews for junior members of the team and do peer code reviews to make sure code is following standards set forward by the architects.
  • Running test scripts against code to ensure quality delivery.
  • Guiding teams to resolve code issues.

Where you'll be working...

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Mobile app development.
  • Experience in working on an enterprise grade mobile team.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in ReactJS, Service Workers (PWA), HTML, CSS3, Typescript, JavaScript, JSX, Java, Spring Reactive, Spring Boot, Struts, Oracle, Tomcat, Cassandra.
  • Experience in Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Spring framework & Reactive programming.
  • Development experience in MicroServices Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Cloud and Open source technologies - AWS, GCM, Docker, Kibana, Hadoop, Splunk, Git, Stash, NodeJS, npm, webpack, apigee, Redis.
  • Experience in developing applications on all device platforms – Desktop, Mobile and Tablet.
  • Experience in Java, Kotlin, iOS, Android SDK.
  • Experience in Push Notifications APIs, GCM.
  • Experience in developing new complex web, mobile applications from top to bottom (user interface design, application design, implementation, unit and functional testing, deployment to customers). Implement new features in existing applications.
  • Experience in liaising with product stakeholders and other teams in the organization to complete the projects on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, manage criteria applied during code reviews.
  • Experience in Investigate technical issues during the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience in evaluating mobile technologies and third party tools.
  • Experience in unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and TestNG. Must have used Chrome simulators or testing frameworks such as Perfecto Mobile for testing on various devices.
  • Experience in using git, Jira, Jenkins, confluence and other software development tools.
  • Experience in Agile 2.0.The ability to communicate effectively with business and product teams.
