Infrastructure SQL DBA Automation Engineer

We are seeking a Database engineer with an SQL Server DBA background to join our Enterprise Database team. The ideal candidate will have a strong DBA-Developer skillset with SQL Server database on Windows, AWS RDS and Azure. Be part of our global team which focuses on developing automated database solutions leveraging agile methodology. Looking for a self-motivated person who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
3+ years SQL Server DBA (install, monitor, backup, restore) experience on Windows.
3+ years AWS cloud technologies, especially AWS-RDS, SQL Server on EC2, S3.
3+ years writing provisioning, patching, maintenance scripts
3+ years scripting in PowerShell, SQL
Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance and Infrastructure As A Solution
Ansible playbooks, templates, and workflows in Ansible tower
Experience in using DevOps tools like Kanban Board, Git, Confluence and Jira
Experience implementing Microsoft Always-On and Clustering solutions
Infrastructure as code experience, such as Terraform, Jenkins.
Agile product development experience.
Understand Microsoft SQL licensing requirements related to Edition and Version, virtual or physical platform
Excellent communication with management, peers, and customers.
Possession of a growth mindset
Experience supporting all phases of the system development life cycle including development, testing, QA, and production.
Education Minimum Requirements:
Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.
High School Diploma with IT experience
What you will be doing:
Define SQL Server databases standards
Developing procedures for provisioning, upgrading, patching of SQL Server databases including advanced features like Always on Availability Groups
Develop and Implement automation routines in Ansible for provisioning, patching and maintenance of SQL Server databases.
Develop and implement infrastructure as Code in Ansible and Terraform for MSSQL databases on AWS.
Lead projects and teams focused on engineering work. Plan work, deliver to timelines, act independently and proactively.
Understand the importance of maintaining control and compliance of our processes, images, and systems, folding this work into all tasks
Gather requirements for new system implementations, and migrations to newer environment based on SQL Server.
Assist with planning and executing tasks to build the environments, migrate data, and configure user and group security.
The engineer will work with outside vendors to explain process and limitations for new system onboarding and help identify solutions to complete the project.
Drive process improvements using automation.
Drive innovation with thought leadership and technical expertise.
