Description

Leidos has an opening for an Audio Visual Engineer in the National Military Command Center located at the Pentagon, Washington DC

A TS/SCI is required for this position. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and monitoring of existing and new A/V systems within the National Military Command Center (NMCC). These systems include Briefing Display Systems, Intercom Systems, Public Address Systems etc.

You will be working with a team of other engineers to resolve issues, implement patches, updates, and report progress to supervisor and stakeholders. You will be required to make entries within the Remedy ticketing system to document the work that is being accomplished on a regular basis.

Candidates must be comfortable with developing schedules/timelines for the work that is required to be reviewed by leadership. You will be working with other teams to include system administration, telecommunications engineers, etc. in a collaborative effort in designing and troubleshooting systems.

You will be called up to brief status updates or present problems and solutions to government and DOD personnel. Candidate must be able to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel and in a professional manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, monitor and manage A/V systems

  • Design, document and manage installation of A/V equipment

  • Maintain and upgrade A/V systems, software, firmware and configurations

  • Design and implement new A/V solutions or improve capability or efficiency of existing equipment.

  • Develop List of Materials (LOM) for A/V equipment

  • Arrange scheduled upgrades

  • Investigate and resolve A/V faults

  • Report status, issues and recommendations to key stakeholders

  • Equipment lifecycle management

  • Implementation of DISA STIGS and vulnerability patching

  • Utilize engineering drawings, technical specifications, electrical blueprints and schematics to make sure new equipment will integrate into existing systems.

  • Utilize test equipment consisting of analog multi-meters, oscilloscopes, waveform monitors, vector scopes, VU meters, and RF signals

  • Develop Engineering Installation Plans (EIP)

  • Knowledge of IP addresses and intersystem communications

Basic Qualifications

  • Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance

  • Bachelors in Audio/Visual Engineering or other relevant field and at least 8 years of experience. Additional years of direct related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Security+ Certification

  • Foundations of Crestron Programming, CTI-P101

  • Completed training from Society of Broadcast Engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Experience with Crestron NVX, Legacy DM and Programming

  • Intermediate Systems Programming – CTI-P201

  • DM Certified Engineering DMC-E-4K

  • Understanding of network protocols for streaming video

  • Working in a command center or other DOD environment

  • RMF/Cyber understanding

  • Member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers

  • Familiar with Electronic Industries Association Standards

  • Proficient in International Telecommunications Union Defined Standards

  • SMPTE Training

  • AVIXA Training

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
