We are building a team of energetic, customer-focused service operations engineers that blend system admin, incident command, and NOC engineering disciplines. Youll be part of a dynamic team that learns broadly how our cloud platform works so you can be the bridge between product engineering and our partners.**Who are we looking for?**As part of the broader Engineering organization, you will act as the voice of the customer to influence product features and plans to improve the customer experience. This role is integral to the success of our customer relationships and is critical to the success of the platform. This role will support Oracles Government customers. Some of your responsibilities are:+ Act as the software development liaison between all internal service teams and operations in secured regions.+ Escalation point for software operations and maintenance within the region.+ Architect, deploy code, and execute other changes within the region.+ Lead and guide others in timely resolution and documentation of incidents.+ Ensures thorough documentation of incidents through company-standard reporting methods.+ Act as lead/mentor for other service operators.+ Act as a point of escalation for incidents and other issues arising within the region.**Qualifications**+ **Ability to maintain a US government Top Secret SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance .**+ Proficient with writing services in Python, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, or Java+ Familiarity with core protocols (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, TCP)+ Proficient with communication skills (writing, organization, learning exchange)+ Most importantly, the aptitude to be a good team player and the willingness to learn and implement new Cloud technologies as needed+ Methodical approach to troubleshooting complex problems+ Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git.+ Background in operations-monitoring, alerts, etc. for large scale environments+ 7 years managing large scale, highly distributed, services infrastructures**Preferred Qualifications**+ REST APIs+ Experience building solutions on the cloud public/private and cloud computing/networking patterns+ Knowledge of Linux internals and host-based networking+ Experience in production software development with Agile methodologies+ Expert troubleshooting and problem-solving skills+ Familiarity with configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet, etc.+ A BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent**Detailed Description and Job Requirements**Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
