What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be Program Managing all OSP engineering switch shut downs for NY Metro and Local Law 97 wire centers for NY Metro. This will include OSP cables and associated equipment. This critical role will coordinate with a variety of teams and have direct contact with various teams within Engineering. You’ll work in diverse environments, to solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions to address our regulatory obligations. You will be responsible to track all Local Law 97 wire centers and the decommissioning of the Switch Shutdown wire centers. You will participate on various calls related to the FiOS Open for Sale program & NT Switch shutdowns. Responsibilities may include surveying wire centers in NYC. This includes the identification of Outside Plant Fiber Optic Network elements. This role will require coordination with a variety of teams and will require the use of project management tools and work in the various NT systems.

  • Oversight of vendors and work packages.
  • Coordination with internal departments and customer focused communications.
  • Working cohesively with CORE Engineering, OSP Engineering, CO Engineering and the NT PMO’s.
  • Coordinating with internal departments to track and provide direction to the field teams that correlate with the FTTP NYC OFS build.
  • Creating winning scenarios and outcomes for all teams.

What we’re looking for...

You have knowledge of Outside Plant Engineering practices. You enjoy analyzing problems and having the autonomy to select and implement the right solutions. While you work well independently, you are also a great team player and enjoy leading colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure best outcomes. No stranger to a fast-paced environment, you manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while staying focused on important deadlines. As a strong communicator, you can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.
You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Familiarity with NYC dense urban environment.
  • Experience with windows-based programs and corporate database systems.
  • Experience with CAD, and MS Excel/MS Access.
  • Passion & Dedication to our Customer and our Network.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Ability to make network design decisions based on recommended Engineering Guidelines and design criteria.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a clear and concise manner in order to communicate and explain our service order process and the method of delivery.
