Desktop Build Infrastructure Engineer ( R-00067350 )
We are in search of a Infrastructure Engineer for our rapidly growing infrastructure community in Farnborough. This team are at the center of driving innovative solutions and proposing new software development practices for our company. The successful candidate will be working across multiple digital transformation programmes, including the transformation of the UK’s biometrics platform to cloud for one of our key customers.

We are looking for a Windows 10 build Engineer with MDT, Ivanti & SCCM experience to work collaboratively with colleagues and our customer in an exciting and defence environment delivering technical service in a dynamic ITIL environment.
An Windows 10 build engineers responsibilities include:
Requirements capture from the customer and propose a solution that meets the customer’s needs
Production of HLD/LLD covering the back end desktop infrastructure as well as desktop build.
Production of implementation and rollout plans.
Production of test plans and test procedures.
Build of back end desktop infrastructure ie Ivanti/SCCM.
Test execution of build to confirm fit for purpose.
Handover/training of support staff post implementation.
Ongoing management and support of desktop infrastructure and desktop build.
Management of evergreen patching across estate.
Required experience and competencies:
Design build and test of Ivanti infrastructure
Design build and test of MDT infrastructure
Design build and test of SCCM infrastructure
Design build and test of Intune infrastructure
Design build and test of O365 (Exchange, Teams)
Development of a customer desktop build with a number of bespoke/legacy applications
Excellent communications skills, organisational skills and independent and autonomous working
Ability to run design workshops with internal and external teams
Be an escalation point for high severity complex problems and incidents
Experience in ITIL ICT service delivery on critical infrastructure
Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines while handling multiple priorities
Experiencing in patch management including analysis and deployment
Leadership experience in current role, able to speak credibly to highly technical individuals and work with them to elicit challenges and find routes to success;
People skills: able to motive, influence and drive individuals both inside and outside of their direct management
Understanding of the importance of stakeholder management and organisational acumen.
Provide up to date and accurate reporting to programme and customer
Demonstrable ability to adapt to new technologies, skillsets and to learn quickly.
The actual work you will perform consists of a blend of operational support alongside the specification and implementation of new network infrastructure as part of a large, diverse, skilled and collaborative team. Occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites may be required. Keeping an eye on the technology landscape is essential, too – identification of new and relevant technologies to solve problems and make improvements is part of the job. Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
