Leidos is seeking an ILS Engineer with strong experience in the management and delivery of optimised support solutions for UK MOD. The ILS Engineer will be responsible for all ILS documentation, ILS due diligence activities, interfacing with other workstreams to maintain alignment and resolve issues, and management of key ILS resources.

About You

You will have the experience to be part the ILS team responsible for the development and delivery of the optimised support solution for a number of ILS programmes. You will require strong interpersonal skills to not only to interact with members of the ILS and engineering teams, but also to interface to the customer. You should be experienced in working on UK MOD programmes, specifically those with a strong IT element. You will be responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on the status of part of the ILS programme.

You will be comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative, delivery focused environment. Your experience of the defence sector will further enhance your ability to work closely with the customer.

You must have SC clearance, with DV clearance being preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Skills to analyze and identify support requirements from customer documentation such as the URD, SRD, SOW or SOR.

  • Skills to assess the feasibility of achieving the support requirements against the proposed technical design and highlighting potential problems.

  • Skills to conduct supportability analysis in sufficient detail to influence system design; conducting analysis and trade-off among architecture design alternatives; and developing and control of a Total Cost of Ownership / Life Cycle Cost (TCO/LCC) model.

  • Knowledge to develop the Maintenance Concept and identifying the optimum support option, or options, including recommendations for Contractor Logistic Support (CLS).

  • Knowledge of the selection and tailoring of ILS Supportability Analysis tasks.

  • Skills and knowledge to perform Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) analysis including Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Levels of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA). Also the ability to construct Reliability Block Diagrams using proprietary software tools.

  • Knowledge to construct the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for support activities

  • Spares Ranging and Scaling using software tools

  • Management and delivery of the Technical Documentation programme

  • Identification and documentation of PHS&T solutions

  • Identification and documentation of disposal solutions

  • Skills and knowledge regarding software support

  • Skills and knowledge with respect to producing a Logistic demonstration plan and of running and reporting of the Log demo.

  • Skills and knowledge of Obsolescence Management processes

  • Skills and knowledge with respect to the construction, management and maintenance of a Logistics Information Repository (LIR)

  • Skills and knowledge of Configuration Management

  • Skills and knowledge to identify, categorize, and manage risks.

  • Skills and knowledge to engage the customer, supplier, and third party stakeholders.

  • Required knowledge to review, understand, and verify existing documentation, plans and procedures, staff and assets.

  • Skills and knowledge to engage internal service leads and to maintain alignment.

  • Knowledge of Def Stan 00-600 and DLF

Salary Range:

  • £40,000 - £50,000 p/a, with potential to increase for truly exceptional performance at assessment
