Reinvent your career @Leidos The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Information Assurance (IA) Engineer at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this exciting role, you will perform Mission Systems Assessment and Authorization for the SMC/GP customer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work both independently and as part of local and geographically dispersed teams with varying composition and levels of expertise.

  • Be the primary representative from their discipline, or may work with others from their area of expertise.

  • Develop, update, accomplish Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) entries and updates, coordinate, and staff (for signature) Mission Information Systems Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for GPS mission systems.

  • Maintain and distribute each month the Mission Information Systems Assessment and Authorization schedules.

  • Prepare a weekly report describing the status of each A&A package in process. Items to be addressed will include delivery of associated documentation and artifacts, status of missing items, completed and pending reviews, and status of remaining actions.

  • Update the Air Force's Information Technology Investment Portfolio Suite (ITIPS) with current systems status to maintain compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)

  • Review mission systems authorization policies, programs, procedures and reports for initial and follow-on system releases, including new and evolving cyber system requirements, as they apply to the GPS program. Document review findings in a detailed monthly report with suggested changes/revisions.

  • Administer the weekly GPS mission systems IA telecoms by scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing agendas, distributing review documentation; collecting and summarizing inputs on proposed actions; reviewing actions; and recording and publishing minutes.

  • Update the Risk Management Framework (RMF) database tools weekly, including the Air Force's Information Technology Investment Portfolio Suite (ITIPS).

  • Review annually and distribute the Information Assurance Strategy and the Continuous Monitoring Strategy.

  • Conduct and document Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), and physical security penetration tests on GPS Mission Information Systems.

  • Revalidate monthly IA/cyber controls for accredited GPS Mission Information Systems to ensure compliance with relevant DoD requirements. Document review findings in a detailed monthly report with suggested changes/revisions.

  • Assess, as required, Higher Headquarters (HHQ) directed changes in policy requirements for their impact to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) system authorization.

  • This position may require occasional travel less than 5% of the year.

Basic Qualifications

  • MA/MS on a computer science/cyber-related field; may substitute bachelor’s degree plus additional experience for an exceptional candidate

  • 10+ years immediately relevant experience

  • TS/SCI

  • DoD 8570 Certification

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; proficient in MS Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with space command or other air force/DoD information systems

  • Familiarity with DoD cyber regulations and instructions including, but not limited to: DoDI 8580.01, DoDI 8500.01, and DoDI 8510.01

  • Experience with DoD RMF and accreditation processes

Pay Range:

Pay Range $110,500.00 - $170,000.00 - $229,500.00
