Senior Test Analyst

We are in search of a Test Analyst or Test Lead to join Leidos UK within the Air Traffic Management portfolio, based in Whiteley. This is a hybrid position.

The candidate will be responsible for conducting analysis of requirements and designs to enable test development, including estimation of effort, technical dependencies and areas of risks. Duties will include:

  • Creation of test conditions and test designs under their own direction
  • Control of their own test scope, working as part of a wider team and reporting to a test lead
  • Development of test reporting materials and analysis of outcomes against objectives.

Test Competencies

Test Process: Understands Testing Lifecycle; Can follow Test processes; Contributes to improving delivery and understands the importance of evidence-based design and analysis.

Test Planning: Able to estimate and plan own immediate tasks. .

Test Control and Monitoring: Able to manage own tasks and report on progress, risks and issues.

Test Completion: communicate test results to colleagues, team leaders.

Test Design and Implementation: Able to design and test cases using standard testing techniques such as Specification-based, structure-based and experience-based techniques. Able to come up with different business scenarios for a requirement, working with others in the team.

Test Tools: Can use Test Tools including Test Management and Defect Management tools. Can use supporting tools such as network monitoring, load generation with guidance.

Technical Breadth: Aware of a range of tools and techniques for test automation. Likely to have some demonstrable technical attributes.

Responsibility & Accountability

Autonomy: Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/ project team. Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.

May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.

Typically responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff.

Influence: Interacts with and may influence immediate colleagues. May have some external contact with customers, suppliers and partners. May have more influence in own domain. Aware of need to collaborate with team and represent users/customer needs.

Complexity: Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through collaboration with colleagues. Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically limited in complexity.

Business Skills: Has sufficient communication skills for effective dialogue with customers, suppliers and partners. Is able to work in a team. Is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work within short time horizons. Demonstrates a rational and organised approach to work. Understands and uses appropriate methods, tools and applications. Identifies and negotiates own development opportunities. Is fully aware of and complies with essential organisational security practices expected of the individual.

Knowledge: Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain.

Desirable:

Experience of Safety Critical or Air Traffic Management Testing
