Our Financial Technology practice develops and licenses a growing family of proprietary software products (see to assist financial institutions, finance companies, and asset managers with a number of complex topics such as the accounting for portfolios of complex financial instruments, the valuation and performance monitoring of illiquid investments and the administration and regulatory reporting for alternative investment funds.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Application Client Support
    • Analyze potential gaps and advise client on improving operational procedures and infrastructure needs for clients
    • Provide comprehensive business solutions based on client's operational challenges
    • Assist in client implementation of Deloitte software products
    • Develop process maps and SOPs to describe clients' operating processes
    • Read legal documents and translate those into operational requirements
    • Conduct research, add insight, consistency, and value to clients' operations
    • Provide financial modeling, analytics, technology, operations and asset management consulting
    • Demonstrate a general knowledge of alternative investment market trends, competitor activities, products and service lines
    • Proactively identify, research and resolve discrepancies
    • Effectively communicate with internal/external parties to request information and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
    • Assist with setup of new client application instances, and documentation, configuration, and testing of the integration of our systems to clients' systems
    • Create and maintain user manuals, release notes, documentation, training materials, and FAQs
  • Application Development Support
    • Collaborate with product owner to discuss product and processes enhancements
    • Participate in User Acceptance Testing of system enhancements and new applications including the development of scenario based test cases
    • Assist in training and development of team members
    • Share best practices with team members and counterparts
  • Other support duties and projects as assigned

  • Requirements
    • BA or BS; finance, accounting, or information systems focus strongly preferred
    • Understanding of the investment management / real estate marketplace
    • Experience within investment management (including Hedge, Private Equity or Mutual funds) or real estate industry through an asset management firm or financial services provider / bank
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of using Microsoft Excel for finance / accounting
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment in prioritizing work load
  • Preferred qualifications
    • Previous experience around fund regulatory reporting and/or fund accounting
    • Experience with investment management accounting systems (such as YARDI, MRI, Investran, eFront, iLevel)
    • Experience with application support
    • Understanding of fund accounting processes (calls, distributions, priority of payments) and documents (LPAs, partnership agreements, etc.)
