What you’ll be doing...

Are you excited about working on leading edge applications and platforms, and collaborating with major Auto OEMs as part of the next-Gen 5G journey? This position will play a critical role in creating new innovative applications and platforms in Automotive Data Orchestration space using advanced machine learning, leveraging 4G/5G, Cloud, and Multi-Access Edge Compute (MEC) using AWS Wavelength and Azure based cloud platform technologies. The position will be responsible for creating requirements for the new use cases, applications, leading and working with internal and external customers to develop Nextgen state- of-the-art innovative applications, platforms & solutions. As a subject matter expert, you are expected to lead technical pilots/POC’s & productization of the automotive applications/platforms & develop roadmaps that align with business needs. The position will also participate/contribute to industry driven standards bodies like 3GPP/GSMA/5GAA etc. to influence and develop standards that advance the adoption of the Nextgen automotive data orchestration use cases/solutions.

  • Work with different Verizon business units to create use case requirements for the new applications and platforms that are focused on automotive data orchestration and any new innovative areas that align with Verizon’s business objectives.
  • Leverage and position Verizon’s 4G/5G, Cloud, and MEC in supporting the new applications and platforms.
  • Work closely with engineering teams/business teams in terms of product deliverables.
  • Drive product launches including working with public relations teams, executives, and other management team members.
  • Create detailed requirement documents for the new applications and platforms that will guide internal or external vendors in developing solutions and Statement of work.
  • Launch new/enhance applications and platforms where MEC or cloud infrastructure can be leveraged.
  • Partner with internal and external customers in piloting the new applications and platforms.
  • Develop 1-2 year feature roadmap for the new applications and platforms.
  • Brainstorm new innovative applications and ideas in the automotive areas to advance the usage of 4G/5G, cloud, and MEC.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors for the new applications and platforms, driving contracts to completion with sourcing partners.
  • Participate in standards, evaluate impacts and influence standards to meet Verizon short and long term automotive data orchestration objectives.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in solution architecture and system engineering.
  • Hand on experience on cloud architecture.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science.
  • Experience with LTE/5G technologies.
  • Experience in SIM/eSIM, automotive chipsets, automotive features (number sharing, etc).
  • Expertise in MQTT and other protocols.
  • Hands on experience in developing with Kubernetes, Docker, Go, Python, C, C++.
  • Working knowledge on next-gen CV2X technology.
  • Hands on experience working with AGV, EV, drone software.
  • Hands on experience in ROS or other robotics communication frameworks.
  • Experience with product development life cycle from inception to launch.
  • Experience in Automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of video encoding/decoding frameworks and protocols for real-time streaming
  • Experience with architecting/deployment products on AWS Cloud/Wavelength.
  • Experience with 4G/5G radio access and wireless modem technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in capturing device logs using QXDM like tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP/IP, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Wireshark in dubbing network issues.
  • Experience with microservice architectures.
  • Experience in deploying Docker.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning.
  • Strong written/verbal communications and presentation skills.
  • Experience with writing technical requirements, test plans, procedures and proposals.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and cloud technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
