Position calls for an experienced Cloud Data Architect with a focus on big data and machine learning systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud-based services and architecting big data, machine learning, and AI systems in one or more of AWS, GCP, Azure. Must be able to provide support to application developers, data scientists, and application architects and interface with product leads. Understanding of DevOps / InfrastructureAsCode delivery models are a must as well as wide proficiency with Cloud Security, IT architecture, and data architecture. An advanced degree is preferred.

Skills - Must Have

  • In depth knowledge of AWS and AWS big data, ML, and AI services
  • Experience architecting big data and data warehouse cloud systems
  • Experience architecting machine learning and AI pipelines
  • Experience integrating Amazon S3-based data lakes with access management, ETL, data preparation, data quality, machine learning, and visualization/BI systems
  • Experience with architecting serverless monitoring on AWS
  • Ability to design high availability on AWS
  • Experience designing for disaster recovery in IaaS Cloud platform
  • Expertise in developing CloudFormation templates
  • Experience with Orchestration tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
  • Strong scripting skills, i.e., Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, etc.
  • Hands on experience in Cloud provisioning
  • Minimum BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
  • Hands-on technical practitioner and individual contributor
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Experience with building an automated build pipeline, continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience with source code control repositories
  • In-depth understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST)
  • 7+ years of experience in related roles

Skills - Preferred

  • Experience in Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog
  • Experience in SageMaker, Comprehend, and Textract
  • Experience in GCP or Azure, including data and ML services
  • Expertise in data gravity issues and solutions
  • Expertise in Cloud security and access models
  • Experience building and supporting serverless automation in AWS
  • Expertise in PaaS, and SaaS methodologies, network integration and controls
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based server configuration and automation skills, particularly in a Cloud environment.
  • Prior success in automating a real-world production environment
  • Expertise with large JSON and YAML documents
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools
  • Management of continuous integration servers like AWS CodePipeline or Jenkins.
  • Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across environments.
  • Experience with automated testing tools

  • Champion Enterprise Mindset with a focus on reusable services that are efficient, cost-effective & secure
  • Architect, build, and support big data and machine learning systems in collaboration with Enterprise Information Management colleagues
  • Responsible for Proposals, Investment Planning and long term strategy for BMS
  • Work with app dev teams to develop new cloud hosted services
  • Support app dev teams using existing cloud hosted services
  • Partner with service providers both internal and external to design and implement cloud data systems in the BMS cloud environment.
  • Define supported Cloud Services
  • Education and training of teams
  • Design/Build automation tools
  • Work on a wide range of innovative Cloud uses cases.
  • Architect solutions for scale, resiliency and maintainability.
  • Create code assets and tools to accelerate cloud projects.
