What you’ll be doing...

Workday Solution Architect will join the HR Technology team and will be partnering with the Employee Experience Product Team, engineering team, support teams and vendors to implement Workday technology solutions (e.g., HCM Core, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Leave of Absence, Security, Compliance) in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • Architect Workday HCM solutions to ensure all work streams are cohesive and cross functional impacts are considered and mitigated across all Workday modules and integrated solutions, including Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Absence, Benefits, Talent and Performance, Learning, Payroll, Reporting, Security, and workday extend and bolt-on applications.
  • Create and/or review design elements and sign off on the overall technical design. Identify and confirm technical risks and develop mitigating approaches.
  • Design and solution complex cloud-based business applications on Workday.
  • Drive Workday best practices, with methods and tools, to maximize the value of the platform. Define internal best practices for system architecture, design, and build across the “Hire to Retire” ecosystem and integrated enterprise business systems.
  • Support all stages of the software development life cycle in collaboration with business stakeholders and our IT functional, technical, data, and security teams to ensure that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business.
  • Provide Workday Applications and Integrations root cause analysis and issue resolution support.
  • Work with solution vendors and lead technical discussions and decisions.
  • Influence business and technical leads in best use of Workday out-of-the box tools and features.
  • Think beyond the current project and envision how the solution being developed could be leveraged for future endeavors, considering the business implications of the application technology.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior leaders within the HR and IT organizations and influence key functional area leaders.

Where you’ll be working:

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in solution architecture, evaluation, configuration implementation, integration, and administration of HCM applications.
  • Experience in designing, configuring, and implementing various modules within Workday cloud enterprise applications.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience working with HR technology on global initiatives.
  • Workday implementation experience.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of business process and system architecture across the “Hire to Retire” value stream and their dependencies and impacts across the enterprise technology ecosystem.
  • Ability to define problems effectively, curate and analyze relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid and concrete conclusions to make and support sound recommendations.
  • Familiarity with capabilities of Workday Extend, Workday Studio, BIRT, and Prism.
  • Skilled with presentation and architecture development tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io).
  • Integration experience using REST (JSON, XML), SOAP APi, XSLT transformation.
  • Experience and deep knowledge of data management, integration, and web-based security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to comfortably interface with internal client’s senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated proven ability to manage multiple, often competing project workloads and activities.
  • Experience with software development on an Agile team (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Ability to work on highly cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Self-driven and able to lead others or work autonomously to drive solution decisions, troubleshoot system issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
