Job Description:

As a Wind Technology Consultant within Leidos’ Energy & Infrastructure Consulting Practice, you will collaborate in a team setting to support an existing energy consulting practice, while also reviewing technologies, test provisions and results, and performance modeling, developing and presenting white papers, attending conferences and performing business development activities. You will provide technical reviews of various offshore and onshore utility-scale wind turbine technologies, conduct site visits, review and analyze SCADA data to assess the performance of wind turbine power generating facilities, and work with project managers in developing scopes and budgets for new consulting opportunities. Additionally, you will work with a diverse team in training and mentoring other technical team members and maintaining/growing Leidos’ viewpoints/opinions, wind turbine technology information database, standards of practice, and internal improvement projects.

Work locations: Prefer Denver, Colorado or Framingham, Massachusetts (just outside of Boston), however, other locations may be considered. Relocation assistance may be available.

The consulting group of approximately 100 employees is primarily engaged in private sector power opportunities and offers consulting services, independent engineering services, mergers & acquisition consulting, market analysis, and transmission study services. Our highly knowledgeable engineering consultants work across functions to collaborate and challenge each other to innovate for our clients.

What you will bring to the table:

  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited university, with at least 12+ years’ experience in: engineering design, evaluation of technology, performance modeling/analysis/testing or operations and maintenance of wind turbine technologies: an MBA and/or advanced degree (with a minimum of 10+ years of experience) in engineering, finance, business, or related field area is acceptable.

  • Deep understanding of wind turbines, including first principles understanding of how the design, manufacture, quality control, installation and operation of wind turbines impacts long-term operation of wind farms.

  • Understanding of market trends in technology, installation, maintenance practices, and O&M costs.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Previous work experience as a developer, independent engineer, and/or on a performance optimization team.

  • Offshore wind experience.

  • Foreign language skills, especially Spanish.


Note: This role may require as much as 25% travel, including international travel, and can include weeks with extended work hours (50 hours or more) to support client needs.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00
