The National Security Sector at Leidos is hiring for a Lead System Engineer of a large scale ERP development and implementation program. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to help drive department-wide business reform for the customer by integrating transportation and financial processes at the transaction level to optimize financial management of the Transportation of Things that support the Department of Defense financial auditability requirements and closing identified auditability gaps. The customer is seeking a multifaceted solution consisting of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities and Policy changes as well as the implementation of a commercial-off-the-shelf Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE). This opportunity is contingent upon contract award.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide critical thought leadership and direction to push the limits of system design and innovation in support of stakeholder requirements.
  • Translate complex problems into elegant solutions and shaping business technology strategies.
  • Architect and implement cutting edge technology solutions, mentor engineers and will act as an evangelist in technology architectures and ways of working.
  • With a focus on providing senior technical leadership, this role will be a key influencer of Leidos’ next-generation of microservices, application program interfaces (API), data, and cloud computing technology platforms.
  • Lead technical projects with a range of development teams to architect, build, design, and scale next-generation technology platforms.
  • Influence and establish best engineering practices through solid design decisions, processes, and tools.
  • Set goals, strategies, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple technologies.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of software engineering, cloud technologies and data engineering to define target architectures, patterns, and processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams, working closely with architects and business leaders.
  • Drive standardization and reuse of industry leading technology across the organization.
  • Lead tool and technology selection.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 15 years relevant experience in performing technical functions for complex system implementations.
  • 10 years relevant experience in leading technical teams across multiple disciplines for large, complex information technology systems.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms or equivalent Freight Management System (FMS)/Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Demonstrated performance as a Lead Systems Engineer/Architect, developing or implementing information systems with a broad experience base across the entire project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated capacity to understand and communicate technical ideas, concepts, and thoughts across multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud implementation (MS Azure or AWS preferred).
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining DoD Risk Management Framework Accreditation.

Favorable if you have:

  • Experience with SAP architecture and implementation.
  • SAP Certified Associate – SAP Activate Project Manager or similar certification.
  • Experience with computer network theory and IT standards and cyber security tools’ architectures.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
  • Experience/familiarity with DoD Instruction 5000.88, Engineering of Defense Systems, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
