Job Description:

The Defense group with Leidos is looking for a System Engineer to support the TETRAS program in Huntsville, AL.

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires BS degree & 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Secret clearance

Knowledge and application of systems engineering processes across the product lifecycle (e.g., proposal, design, qualification, requirements qualification/verification, production, etc.) Demonstrated ability to work with multiple engineering fields to identify technical product characteristics to develop requirements specifications; writing requirements documentation and coordinating release through approval process; knowledge of requirements management and database tools (e.g., DOORS, ClearCase, ClearQuest, etc.)

Knowledge of Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) Concepts and Interoperability or other Command and Control system concepts; Systems Engineering experience; Concept of Operations (CONOPS), System Architecting; Requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation; Requirements specifications; requirements verification; experience supporting large scale development and deployment programs; experience in requirements development, verification processes, and tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

As the Systems Engineer for Modernization Requirements and Verification, you will: support shoulder to shoulder meetings to gather operations team’s inputs, draft, review, and release requirements specification documents, including defining the requirements and verification baseline; draft, review, and release verification reports to support verification of parent requirements Coordinate with other components and the customer to analyze, decompose, and allocate system level requirements to lower level functional and physical/design requirements, ensure that all requirements are traceable and that changes are managed considering impacts to all stakeholders; define requirement verification success criteria and approaches; create and maintain requirements baselines; identify and resolve conflicts/issues within customer support organization requirements inputs and with other components and the customer; quickly become a proficient independent contributor with RVTM; and apply systems engineering change control process to retain control of the modernization requirements baseline
