Oracle for Research focuses on collaborating with researchers to expand Oracle Cloud adoption by researchers, on nurturing and developing community, and on sharing the ways researchers use Oracle Cloud to change the world through their work. The program provides scientists, researchers, and university innovators with open communities; high-value, cost-effective, robust Oracle Cloud technologies; and startup and industry collaborations to find solutions to complex problems.The Director of Marketing, Communications and Communities is responsible for driving awareness, interest in and adoption of Oracle Cloud in the research market; accelerating and expanding engagement with researchers through Oracle for Research; and developing and nurturing a thriving virtual and real world Oracle research user community. The Director is a key member of the Oracle for Research leadership team, responsible for the development and implementation of the Oracle for Research brand vision, strategy and campaigns to attract top researchers, motivate key partners, and drive grassroots demand for Oracle Cloud across research audiences. The Director also is responsible for managing the programs content creation and storytelling, mainly across the website, blog and Twitter, but also through events activation and online/offline research communities. In addition to making individual contributions and leading a small but growing team, this role works collaboratively with other Oracle marketing, communications and corporate PR teams to provide strategic direction and ensure consistency of research messaging across Oracle channels. This position is U.S. based, and reports directly to the VP overseeing the Oracle for Research program.Job responsibilities include:* Develop and implement a world-class global marketing strategy for Oracle for Research, including electronic and print collateral, digital advertising, social marketing, print publications and demand generation campaigns* Develop and implement a content strategy and related content for the Oracle for Research website, blog and Twitter, including development and management of an editorial calendar, co-developing and -writing blogs for the VP of Oracle for Research, and developing and writing content for social media, articles, blogs, technical white papers, success stories, and case studies.* Develop and implement a community strategy for researchers using Oracle Cloud, including content creation, community moderation, and outreach and growth plans* Research, write and promote valuable and engaging content that resonates with a research audience, and collaborate with Oracle corporate marketing and others to amplify Oracle for Research content and leverage that content to develop research stories for the Oracle corporate audience* Manage the Oracle for Research Twitter channel, including developing, posting, moderating, replying and amplifying original and curated content* Identify and engage with key research communities through conferences, events, and online platforms* Serve as a brand journalist, including following up on current leads/stories, identifying new stories, interviewing researchers, capturing stories, writing content, and developing video storylines and storyboards, publishing in both written and video formats, in collaboration with video professionals* Develop customer-facing and internal presentations, data sheets, and other collateral, ensuring brand and messaging consistency across media and channels* Collaborate with Oracle PR to develop talking points for use by the VP, Oracle for Research, and other Oracle executives* Manage marketing and communications relationships with internal Oracle departments, especially those that overlap into the research world. Develop and grow external partnerships that support marketing, communications and PR efforts* Manage and deliver all marketing and event-based projects, including vendor selection; work collaboratively with Oracle for Research Program Ops on related procurement and budget issues* Responsibly manage the global Oracle for Research marcomm budget* Project manage Oracle for Research marketing and communications projects and deliverables, including tracking all relevant content, engagements, partnerships, etc.* Provide reports to executive management on a regular basis*Job Requirements*The ideal candidate will:* Have at least 10 years of experience working in a marketing or communications role targeting a Research audience, with an understanding of how, where and why this audience engages.* Be a disciplined content creator with a passion for writing, interacting with social communities, and producing content that brings stories to life.
