Eaton’s ES AMER PCS PCD division is currently seeking a Test Lab Operator at our Ellisville, MO location. In this role, you will support product development, product maintenance and product manufacturing teams by ensuring quality product testing is performed on a wide variety of overcurrent protection products and related devices per business level quality processes.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.60 per hour. After 6 months in role, pay will increase to $29.71 per hour. The core hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm.

What you’ll do:

The Test Lab Operator must remain proficient in performing the duties required to determine the sequence of work, set up, adjust, record data, and maintain all power facilities and equipment utilized to evaluate test articles in the High Power Labs. Must work closely with other team members and supervisors to maintain work collaboration and efficiency. Must be flexible in performing various job functions.

  • Evaluate and diagnose malfunctions of complex electromechanical and electronic equipment based on extensive test station knowledge and experience.
  • You will interpret engineering requests for service, refer to circuit specifications/instructions, change generator/transformer connections, position line switches, and adjust power sources to provide the required circuit voltage, current, and power factor.
  • Connect test articles to test terminals, set up data acquisition hardware, and operate the control console, oscilloscope, and camera to perform tests and record results.
  • Operate MS Windows-based computer to compose test reports, forward reports, and test articles to the requester.
  • Utilize computerized data acquisition and recording equipment, control console, oscilloscope, fiber-optic links, cameras, high voltage/high current transformers, miscellaneous meters, test equipment, power and hand tools.
  • Install and repair equipment as required.
  • Perform maintenance checks of equipment; adjust as required and record results.
  • Fabricate, modify, and machine components required to support lab operation.
  • Operate mill, lathe, grinders, table/band saws, drill press and welder, and various hand tools.
  • Mentor junior team members and engineers and perform related duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • Work with station supervisor and engineer to provide necessary assistance to satisfy customer needs during contract, agency, and regulatory testing.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Electrical-focused Associate degree (60-credit hour minimum)

• 10 years Electrical experience

• Proficiency in MS Windows operating system is required
