Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Automation Specialist - Maintenance. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The rate for this position is $38.94 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

Oversee and direct the automation requirements at the Sherman facility. Coordinate the activity of all Electricians while maintaining the electrical equipment. Work closely with Engineering departments in the acquisition of new equipment and the design of internally fabricated equipment. Work closely with vendors and suppliers of automation equipment and will be responsible for assuring that maintenance personnel receive required training on new and existing equipment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works with all engineering staff to coordinate electrical design requirements of new equipment and assure compliance with procurement specifications.
  2. Works with department supervisors and leads to coordinate machine modifications and/or complex electrical repairs.
  3. Obtain appropriate outside resources when the complexity of problems warrants. Will then train electricians to reduce future requirements for outside help.
  4. Assist in the estimation of time and materials for installations and/or modifications.
  5. Participate in the upgrades, design, and installation of process control equipment.
  6. Responsible for electrical blueprint control and to assure that prints and programs are up to date.
  7. Implement new PLC technology at Eaton Sherman.
  8. Train electricians in the art of debugging and programming PLCs.
  9. Participate in the repair, upgrade, and maintenance of internal PCs in our equipment.
  10. Work with the IT department to solve issues related to the IT/machine relationships.
  11. Lead by example in formulating and initiating a Safety Policy in Maintenance.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure safety measures and compliance with OSHA regulations and plant safety rules. Participate in and lead group efforts and projects.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and communicate.

• Employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

• Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as required by business need.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Must have 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.

• Minimum of 7 years of industrial electrical/electronic experience including working knowledge of process control and PLCs.

• Must be able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints.

• Must be able to work from diverse data and drawings while coordinating equipment repairs.

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Sherman, TX will be considered. Active-duty military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without ongoing company sponsorship.

• Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in Allen Bradley software.
