Optum is looking for a curious and self-motivated individual to join a newly formed hybrid analytics/contracts team within OptumRx, focused on the broad area of client contract implementation and the associated data analytics. The role will support analytics and insights related to Client contracts and contract terminology, support strategies to optimize client implementation and help identify opportunities to drive incremental value for OptumRx and our clients.

The role will require building relationships with our business and analytics partners across many OptumRx functions, including Underwriting, Finance, Rebate Analytics, Legal and Client Management teams.

Optum seeks a professional with a quantitative mindset with business experience, comfortable in both the legal contract and data analytics spheres, a strong aptitude for complex problem solving, industry experience, and strong communication and technical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with and/or help internal partners (e.g., Finance, Account Management, Legal, Analytics) interpret contractual requirements to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory stipulations
  • Understand existing processes and identify potential areas of improvement
  • Ability to translate contractual language into quantifiable financial impacts
  • Provide reporting and analytics on trends and performance metrics
  • Work towards accurate implementation of client contractual terms
  • Identify challenges and opportunities and communicate to relevant stakeholders
  • Perform analytics in line with organizational best practice, ensuring cross-functional alignment on methodologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data Analytics / Finance / Business intelligence roles or similar
  • Experience analyzing data to develop business insight and strategy
  • Experience in SQL and Tableau (or similar)
  • Prior exposure to legal contract language
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams or departments for business growth or profitability goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex analytic results into meaningful insight, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand
  • The ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin or Letterkenny office is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Business, Analytics, Finance, Engineering)
  • Experience in the Healthcare Industry (ideally US Healthcare), e.g., Pharmacy Benefit Management
  • Experience in MS Azure and Python (or similar)
