Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implements, installs, configures, monitors, troubleshoots, and evaluates existing infrastructure capabilities and provide solutions accordingly
  • Keep close eye on Analytical Monitoring systems like Nagios, Enterprise tools and drive the issues towards resolution
  • Be a single point of contact for all infrastructure issues related to analytical software, the data science teams use
  • Co-ordinate with third party application / infrastructure teams like Big Data enterprise support to identify root cause of the issues & fix them
  • Monitor system performance and utilization of Linux servers. Install, configure, and document new servers and applications
  • Understand Bigdata Architecture & the eco system components like hive, spark, Sqoop
  • Be great with Linux & good to have knowledge on windows servers as well
  • Be able to automate and run tasks using Python and Shell Scripts
  • Maintain and audit user accounts for high data usage & follow-up with them accordingly
  • Will be involved in doing R&D of new enterprise / open-source applications as needed
  • Generate a weekly report on Usage of cluster data & follow-up with users if cleanup required. Generate Weekly report on Big Data queue’s statistics & report accordingly
  • Update the status of infrastructure & components to senior leadership on a daily basis
  • Document & Track all the hardware inventory
  • Guide, mentor and lead technical staff in ensuring smooth day to day operations
  • Interact with the business users to understand their requirements
  • Develop impactful presentations and documents
  • Handle production outages and send periodic updates globally
  • Flexible to work during weekends for production support / rollouts, whenever applicable
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • B.Tech (Any Stream)
  • Experience in Bigdata Technologies (MapR)
  • Good experience with shell scripting & Python
  • Experience in installing, configuring new software on virtual Linux servers
  • Experience in working with “Sudo” access
  • Prior experience in managing large infrastructure environments for Data Science Projects
  • Experience with Dockers / containerization technology
  • Experience with GitHub / SVN versioning systems
  • Excellent with the fundamentals of Linux administration tasks
  • Good knowledge on GitHub
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Very good communication skills in English (spoken and written)
  • Leadership qualities to drive the team and support process
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to take responsibility and deliver projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Cloud technologies Azure & GCP
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Servers
  • Experience working with Terraform & building CI-CD pipelines
